Hello, my name is Jake. I am currently working as an intern at G Farms. A little bit about me, I am a junior at Rockwall High School. I am also serving as one of our FFA Chapter officer. I have a big interest in agriculture, mechanics and law enforcement. My plans after high school are to attend college and become Texas Game Warden.
Over the course of this past week, we went out and cut, raked and baled our first field. I learned how to run and operate our John Deer batwing mower, Vermeer 604r classic, and our Kubota Speed Rake. The Rake got broke this week and I thankfully was able get ahold of a welder to come out and fix the rake that day. Our 5085e tractor is out of commission it won't catch a gear and we now are running our 5095e on the baler.
I learned how to properly install bale wrap and face it the correct way so that it won't get caught up in the baler and cause us to have to cut it out of there. I also learned how to take action call people and get stuff done. This week I broke our hay rake and I learned how to get on top of things and call people and making post trying to get help and get things done.
While reading my book The Big Leap it talks about how worrying won't do any good to you it only makes things worse. This week that helped me out with the hay rake incident instead of freaking out and worrying about things I took action and made calls and got help to fix the rake and get on with my day.
