Soccer Tournament Update and a Good Quote to Think About

As y'all may know, soccer is one of my main passions. I love everything about it, and that's why these past couple weeks have been so great. Two huge tournaments are going on right now. There is Euro 2020 and Copa America, going on at the same time. It's funny because they are calling it Euro 2020, but it's happening in 2021, and they are pretending like that's normal. Anyways, I am supporting England in the Euros. England has progressed to the semi finals after absolutely thrashing Ukraine 4-0. It was an emphatic win for the Three Lions, and it quickly squashed any talk of an underdog story for the Ukrainians. England also beat Germany before that, and this was by far their most impressive win. I had not really been impressed with the English throughout this tournament, and at times it had looked like they were struggling to get out of first gear. But, the measure of a great team is their ability to win when they play terribly, so I remain optimistic. England faces Denmark in the semi final on Wednesday July 6 at 2pm central. If England loses, I might not come into work for a couple days.

Just to be clear, I am joking about that last part, but honestly it will be really sad. In other news, I am still reading Fanatical Prospecting. A great quote stood out to me recently: "The true test of a CEO in the business world is their ability to find creative solutions to inevitable roadblocks." Wow, I never thought of it like that. Basically, what this means is that there are always going to be headaches and pains and times when you wish you could go back in time to before the problem, but the true measure of a man in charge is the solutions he comes up with. You could be like every other guy, continuing with the status quo and doing the same-old, but the very best come up with their own answers and keep the business chugging right along.
